A twinkle in her eye

Daddy will miss you while you are gone,

it won’t be long till I see you again,

but anytime away is difficult to me,

I won’t have my little girl to tuck in,

I see you smile when you play around,

I see the happiness you always show,

when me and you do things together,

So when you’re away this I want you to know,

Daddy will always love you,

no matter where or how long you are away,

if you hurt your arm or your knee,

just think of the times when you and me play,

I know you are in mommy’s care,

so I won’t worry or be scared,

because we both love you very much,

and mommys and daddys love should be shared,

So when you are there I will try not to cry,

until I see you running to me with a twinkle in your eye.
